HK-248 is listed as white metal in the H&K book. So? why is plating peeling off this item for sale on e-bay? I have been told that HK-248 comes in gold plating? and is described in Jeff and Bill's new upcoming West Coast Expo book?. so is this silver plate ? Are all of them silver plate ? edited by rjesinger on 2/5/2014

He is a picture of the HK-547b gilt that you mentioned John Raymond listed but had not seen. Since Ngc listed a HK-547a bronze I guess I will relable this as HK-547b since I agree with you that that is most logical. If NGC graded HK-547a bronze then they should be able to slab this piece using whatever logic that they used to do the bronze piece. ,
