HK-80....

I've seen the NGC slabbed so-called HK-610 below (also posted in the photo section on this site)... not that many seem to be around.

Wonder what happened to the dies between metal strikings. I haven't noticed this issue with bronze pieces but the WM pieces ingeneral look rather poor.

Could it be the quality of the WM used?

This piece seems to not come up very much in spite of its surviving numbers (15 ?). I've attached Jeff's comments from his auction of the plate coin from the 2nd Ed H&K book. The MS62 appears to show that there are now at least 2 graded pieces... both with rough surfaces as mentioned in Jeff's comments. edited by rjesinger on 6/15/2013

ATTACHED ARE PICTURES OF MY HK-80 GRADED MS 61 BY NGC.

NOT THE TOP GRADED EXAMPLE, BUT PRETTY COOL AS IT WAS EX: OSTHEIMER COLLECTION AND THE PLATE FOR THE 2ND EDITION OF THE SO-CALLED DOLLAR BOOK.

THIS TYPE IS A LITTLE RARER THAN MOST COLLECTORS MIGHT THINK, WITH A TOTAL OF ONLY (10) LISTED IN THE NGC CENSUS,  WITH ONLY (4) MS 62'S FINER.

I think that an HK-80 in silver is floating around...
