Commemorates the first time running water was introduced to the City of Brooklyn N.Y. Obverse features Neptune seated with his right hand on a water lever. Reverse features the water works building with tall smoke stack. Struck in White Metal.

Neptune moves a lever with his right arm, which causes water to gush out of a vase or pipe held in his left arm. In July of 1858 public water was first introduced to Brooklyn, New York, and celebrated in April of 1859, at which time this medal was struck. Engraved by F.B. Smith & Hartmann.
