This is a very scarce SILVER variety. Engraved by George Morgan, and not listed in Julian’s book of U.S. Mint medals, which causes this medal to be a somewhat unknown sleeper. Obverse scene depicts massacre by Indians with tomahawks attacking settlers. Reverse features a monument. This so-called dollar is technically uncirculated but it has a few hairlines/light scratches on the reverse at 9:00 so it is net graded AU.
