Coin Shows in 2020

Let’s just hope 2021 isn’t another year of covid. With the virus hitting the U.S. in March 2020, the remainder of the major coin shows for 2020 were canceled. Early in 2020 the FUN Show and the Long Beach Show were both your typical shows, they had good activity with solid sales.

The overall coin market was a little week, but my so-called dollar sales were exceptionally strong, with a good interest in all areas except the common inexpensive medals, those that sell for $50 or less. Early in 2020 there were not many new collectors entering the hobby. Fortunately that part of the market changed and took off as collectors, confined to their homes due to covid, started aggressively purchasing inexpensive so-called dollars on-line.

With the 2021 FUN Show, the first Long Beach Show of the year and the ANA National Money Show in Phoenix all being canceled so far this year, we can only hope that things improve for the remainder of 2021.
