A state fund dollar struck by the state of Maryland to fund and commemorate their states participation at the Colombian exposition. Struck in unusually high relief, the obverse features an allegorical bust of Columbus. Reverse scene with turtles on the shore of the ocean. Signed with a “W” at 5 o’clock, engraver unknown.
