This is an amazing proof-like cameo. E.E. Hensley of San Francisco struck this elegant commemorative medal with large golden gates that swing open to a view of the Golden Gate with the Golden Gate bridge. Hensley struck a similar medal for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. The reverse features a map of the U.S. indicating the location of cities and the dates which they hosted an international or industrial exposition.
