Struck in silver to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the termination of the Pony Express. The Obverse features a telegraph key, telegraph wire and a dismounted horse symbolizing the end of the Pony Express. On the reverse is a horse and a dismounted rider. A National Commemorative medal authorized by Congress. This piece was sold at Bowers and Merina on 4/12/86 as #4168.
