This lot includes the original red circular cardboard box of issue, it has part of the red top removed from a dealer that put a price tag on it, (not me). Low relief version of the Liberty Head medal struck by Wilhelm Mayer of Stuttgart, Germany and sold by the Heeren Bros., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Compare to SH 6-79. Unlike the high relief version, this is not found in multiple other sizes. Signed W.M. below the bust. Reported in Silver but not confirmed. Compare to George Morgan’s portrait of Liberty on the silver dollar. Columbus landing scene on the reverse. Struck in Aluminum.
