Originally planned to be round, the design was changed to elliptical just prior to the exposition. It is .900 fine silver and was struck with a reeded edge. Designed by H.C. Kreis, struck by Medallic Art Co., and sold by Manufactures Trust Co. at the exposition. Proof versions that were polished after being struck were offered for sale.
