William Lloyd Garrison was revered by many as a leader of the Abolitionist movement. He printed a newspaper reflecting his views denouncing alcohol, war, tobacco, freemasonry, capital punishment and imprisonment for debt. Statue erected in Newburyport, Massachusetts where Garrison was born.
