Certified by PCGS as a Specimen Striking. Rare silver variety, one of the “Three Kings” of silver SCD’s. Medal commemorates the completion of the first transcontinental railroad. Authorized by Congress and designed and engraved by William Barber. Obverse features the bust of U.S. Grant and states “The Oceans United by Railway”. The reverse depicts a mountain scene with a train. Struck in Bronze.
