Struck in silver, a notable example, only 15 have been certified by NGC. This example includes the original round box of issue. Attractive steel silver colored toning with hints of iridescent blue on both sides. A collection of So-Called Dollars would not be complete without an example of this historically significant medal. “What a glorious morning for America” Samuel Adams exclaimed after the Battle of Lexington, April 19, 1775, which marked the beginning of the Revolutionary War. The gold, silver and bronze medals were struck at the Philadelphia Mint; the white-metal pieces were privately minted later. Dies by Henry Mitchell from designs by Edward Griffin Porta.
