Included is the exceptionally scarce “original” colorful holder that this medal was sold in. The holder has a black center with gold lettering, and a bright blue outer ring. The bottom lip of the box is detached, but could be re-attached. The Edifice of the Art Gallery is on the obverse. It is one of the many Centennial So-Called Dollars engraved by William F. Key, who was an assistant engraver at the U.S. Mint from 1864-1885. Key signature is below the edifice to the left. The red Gutta-Percha variety was produced from molds with a slightly different and smaller design and is not signed by Key.
