24 certified by NGC but only four graded finer. Although graded NGC 64, I have seen NGC 65’s not quite as nice as this example. Engraved by George Morgan, and not listed in Julian’s book of U.S. Mint medals, which causes this medal to be a somewhat unknown sleeper. Obverse scene depicts massacre by Indians with tomahawks attacking settlers. Reverse features a monument. Struck in Bronze.
