TOP POP, this is a very scarce Gold Plated variety with only 2 certified. This medal has a thick planchet. Engraved by George Morgan, and not listed in Julian’s book of U.S. Mint medals, which causes this medal to be a somewhat unknown sleeper. Obverse scene depicts massacre by Indians with tomahawks attacking settlers. Reverse features a monument.
