SOLD: 1880’s Newman Mfg. Co. Medal – interesting reverse saying

The reverse legend is quite interesting. I suggest you read it as pictured on the medal. It states, “There is only one girl in this world for me. Her picture is on the silver dollar and her name is Liberty. She feeds us and clothes us and takes us out of soak. As long as we have her picture in our pocket boys, we are never broke; but she is fickle god bless her soul, and awfully hard to hold”. Struck in white metal.
