The obverse features an assemblage of icons representing music, the arts, sciences, industry, and knowledge, along with the dates of the exposition. The reverse image of the Music Hall is signed CED, a mark used by the J.A. Diehl firm of Philadelphia. The same reverse die was used three years earlier for the 1884 St. Louis Exposition SH 4-31. Same reverse die as HK-600 and 600A, the obverse die is similar to HK-604.
