TOP POP. “PLATE COIN” as photographed in the book SCD’s Volume 1. Columbus in the center within a wide outer circle with dual dates below. Reverse die features an unknown structure that looks like a house. Extensive research has failed to identify the structure. It is not the West Virginia building at the exposition nor the Press Building at the 1889 St. Joseph Exposition. Dies are not signed but were engraved by Childs of Chicago.
