This is one of only six certified in BRONZE for the 1893 Columbian Exposition Official SCD, as such, it is exceptionally scarce. Certainly one of the greatest rarities from the entire Columbian Exposition. Graded uncirculated details – environmental damage, due to a slightly darker area on the reverse at 10:00. This SCD is also struck in silver, for which there are a few known, and white metal, of which 4 were reported from the George Morgan estate, and one in copper, and five in bronze. From the Jeff Shevlin Collection. This is the Lower Flag variety, Small Letter variety of the Official U.S. Mint souvenir medal minted on the fairgrounds. Engraved by George Morgan, his signature “M” is below the edifice to the far right. Struck in BRONZE.
