For Sale: HK-213 1893 Columbian Maryland State SCD

This is the elusive white metal variety. It includes the original orange and black ribbon. The back of the ribbon states: Design Copyright 1898 by Frank Brown, Governor. Only 2 have been certified by NGC, this example is raw. A state fund dollar struck by the state of Maryland to fund and commemorate their states participation at the Colombian exposition. Struck in unusually high relief, the obverse features an allegorical bust of Columbus. Reverse scene with turtles on the shore of the ocean. Signed with a “W” at 5 o’clock, engraver unknown.
