Unusual oval shape. Occasionally unholed, but usually found with either a slot or with both a slot and a hole at the top. Sometimes found with a “Souvenir” top pin bar, and occasionally with an added red, white, and blue ribbon backing. This is the “short rays of light” variety.
The miner’s head lamps have rays representing light which gives the appearance of an Indian Headdress. Variety SH 6-78.1 has longer rays of light and the buckets hanging from above are reversed, low on the left and high on the right. Made by W.W. Frisholm of Leadville, Colorado.
