This is very similar to the St. Gaudens So-Called Dollar, which was also struck in copper, as were very few SCD’s from the Columbian Exposition. At 31.74mm it is slightly too small to be cataloged as a So-Called Dollar. Barely legible on the reverse are the remnants of “Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, NJ”. Uniface and struck in bronze.
