Official Medal from the 1898 Trans-Mississippi International Exposition held in Omaha, Nebraska. A female bust on the obverse and on the reverse a mounted Indian spearing a buffalo. This is the SILVER version struck by the United States Mint. The dies were most likely engraved by Charles Barber or George Morgan at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia and they were struck in the Mint exhibit at the exposition. There are obverse and reverse die varieties with minor differences. Five reported struck in gold – none known.
