Obverse features the Statue of Frances E. Willard. Willard Statue was Illinois’s contribution to Statuary Hall in Washington DC in 1893. Reverse legend “PLACED IN STATUARY HALL WASHINGTON D.C. FEB. XVII M.C.M.V. Microscopic “CHILDS CHICAGO”. Frances E. Willard was the leader of the temperance movement, president of the W.C.T.U. in 1879 and helped organize the Prohibition Party. Struck in Bronze.
