SOLD: HK-328 1905 Lewis and Clark 34mm SCD

This medal comes with an envelope from a previous sale by Paul Koppenhaver in the 1970’s – 80’s. The obverse die is almost the same as that used for (SH 14-2), but it does differ in minor ways besides the addition of the date, 1905. The reverse die is the same as that of (SH 14-2) except for the softening of some details through die polishing. This particular medal was struck from rusty dies, which is unusual.
