This is a very scarce variety struck in silver with an “S” counterpunched on the edge. All of these I have seen with an “S” on the edge have attached loops as this one does. This is the Silver-Plated variety, which is always found with a loop attached and in medal orientation. Graded by NGC AU details, cleaned. U.S. Mint engraver George T. Morgan designed the official medal based on Adelaide Hanscomb’s official logo and the Seattle City Seal. The medals were struck at the exposition by the U.S. Mint and sold through Joseph Mayer & Brothers of Seattle. Medal orientation.
