This is a very scarce variety struck in silver with an “S” counterpunched on the edge. This medal includes the original black ribbon as pictured. All of these I have seen with an “S” on the edge have attached loops as this one does. U.S. Mint die engraver George T. Morgan designed the official medal based on Adelaide Hanscomb’s official logo and the Seattle City Seal. The medals were struck at the exposition by the U.S. Mint and sold through Joseph Mayer & Brothers of Seattle. Medal orientation.
