Serial # 11138. Well struck up and more attractive than typically found. Commemorates the completion of the Panama Canal. Full figured female standing on a ship with outstretched arms. This completion medal was actually carried through the Panama Canal on the steamship Cristobal, the first ship to pass through the canal on August 3rd, 1914. Struck in Bronze. On the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Panama Canal, in 2014, Jeff Shevlin struck a series of commemorative medals with a similar obverse and carried them through the Panama Canal before shipping them to his customers.
