This is the considerably rarer Silver-Plated variety. The Design Pat Right and Design Pat Left are similar, but were struck from different dies. In the legend, DESIGN PAT… APPLIED FOR the D of DESIGN is above and to the left of the P of PANAMA. Microscopic die signatures exist with IRVING & JACHENS and also with C.G. BRINKER S.F. over IRVINE & JACHENS. 000 THOU in the banner above the eagle on the reverse. This variety is signed IRVING & JACHENS. S.F.
