SOLD: HK-422 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition Hensley U.S. Expositions SCD – Upper Variety

Near TOP POP, only two finer in 65. Heritage sold one in the same grade for $1,080. This one is priced at less than half of that. There are three different die varieties: upper variety – initials I&J off the coast of Mexico, lower variety – initials I&J off the coast of Central America, and no initials variety. This is the “Upper Variety” with initials I&J off the coast of Mexico. Hensley would later use this design to strike a similar medal for the 1939-40 Golden Gate International Exposition, see (SH 23-4).
