The huge Oregon State Building, which was constructed for the exposition, resembled the Parthenon of Greece. It was built with enormous fir log columns to showcase the fact that the state of Oregon had within it’s borders one fourth of all the standing timber in the U.S. Microscopic Signature on obverse below legend “W. & H. Co. Newark, N. J.” for Whitehead & Hoag.
