The Gold-Plated varieties are found on Bronze and Nickel Planchets. This variety, the Gold-Plated Nickel is considerably scarcer. Struck by the U.S. Mint at the exposition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Obverse features a bust of Washington in the center within 13 stars around. Reverse depicts Liberty with a torch in her upraised left hand and a palm branch in her right as she rides the flying Pegasus towards the right above the clouds, torch held between sun and rays. Struck Gold-Plated Nickel and it is slightly magnetic.
