This medal was sold to raise funds for Colorado’s participation in the Century of Progress Exposition to be held in Chicago in 1933. Four types were struck. This medal is Type IV, the only medal struck from embossed dies. Obverse has a detailed mining scene, the reverse has a version of the Colorado State Seal. Struck in one ounce fine SILVER. Beautiful toning.
