Near TOP POP. Only 12 graded finer and over 100 certified. The 1933 COP Official medal, in addition to being struck in different sizes, was also struck with different finishes. The are cataloged for the first time ever in my book, So-Called Dollars Volume 1: U.S. Expositions. There are four different bronze finishes. This is the “Dark Bronze” variety, one of the scarcest varieties, an R-6 with an estimated 21-75 known. The Official Medal from the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition held in Chicago, Illinois. Struck in Dark Bronze. Official medal was struck by the U.S. Mint in the mint exhibit at the exposition.
