Only 12 certified by NGC, quite scarce. The Charter Oak Tree, a symbol of American Independence fills the obverse. One of the original 13 states. The Fundamental Orders, adopted by the Connecticut Colony in 1639, is often considered the first democratic constitution in America. The name “Charter Oak” came from local legend and a much-told Connecticut tale in which a hollow space in the tree was used to hide the colony’s charter. Reverse legend with dates.
