TOP POP, and unique in the NGC census. This is the previously unlisted and quite scarce Brass version, which is not Silver-Plated. It is the only brass version certified by NGC, the rest are all Silver-Plated. An early medal design concept related to the original pirate theme of “Treasure Island” with marauders and pirates, before a “Pacifist Theme” evolved due to the erupting war in Europe. Very few were distributed. Some have the date “1940” etched/engraved on the reverse, for sale in 1940.
