Gold-Plated octagonal California Gold Discovery Centennial Dollar struck by Irvine & Jackens 24K GOLD-PLATED. This is the first in a series of three for 1948, 1949 and 1950, Gold Discovery, Gold Rush and California Statehood. Obverse depicts a miner panning for gold next to a stream with Sutter’s Fort in the background. Reverse features a version of the State Seal of California.
