Near TOP POP, the finest graded is MS 64. No edge mark present. Obverse features a high relief Jet Airplane “A NEW ERA BEGINS” above. Reverse is the American Airlines emblem. Some NGC holders state “Polished as Made”, because all of these medals were polished after striking to simulate Proof Surfaces. This piece does not have that note. It took quite a few years before NGC would give these medals high grades, as they are all hairlined and appear to be cleaned, but since that is how they were all made, NGC now grades them accordingly. Struck in German-Silver.
