TOP POP and only 9 certified. This is cataloged as the excessively scarce brass variety, but it is Gold-Plated. Struck in 1959 for the “Rush to the Rockies” Colorado Centennial. This is the Denver, Colorado variety. Struck in Nickel-Silver the obverse depicts a modern 1959 version of the City of Denver, the reverse has a 1859 mining camp scene as Denver appeared 100 years earlier. Beware that gold modern restrikes with edge markings exist.
