This is a cast copy, an unusual variety. Originally struck in 1959 for the “Rush to the Rockies” Colorado Centennial. This is the Denver, Colorado variety. Struck in Nickel-Silver the obverse depicts a modern 1959 version of the City of Denver, the reverse has a 1859 mining camp scene as Denver appeared 100 years earlier.
