This is an early ANACS slab, often called “soap boxes” (Generation 1), which were produced from February 1989 to June 1990. Medals in these holders often grade higher when re-certified. Kansas Statehood Centennial Dollar. The Official medal authorized by Congress and struck at the Philadelphia Mint. On the obverse below the word Kansas is a covered wagon drawn by oxen. On the reverse is a vertical shaft of wheat over a sunflower. Struck in SILVER.
