The obverse of the 2014 Fellowship medal is similar to the 1914 Panama Canal Completion medal that was carried on the steamship Cristobal, which completed the first ocean to ocean passage through the Panama Canal. The banner above was changed from “Prosperity to all Nations” to “1914 – Completion Panama Canal – 2014” and the lower scroll which stated “Oceani Inter Se Columbid Coniunguntur” in Latin translated means “Columbia Unites the Oceans” was changed to “100 year Anniversary”.
