A perspective view of the Inter-state Exposition Building with INTER-STATE INDUSTRIAL EXPOSITION OF CHICAGO on the obverse. Microscopic signature R.A. MEYER & SON at lower right at the base of the building. Rudolf A. Meyer was a Chicago engraving firm. The 1873 die, SH 1-11, has been reengraved with the date 1880 for this exposition. The reverse features an American eagle with outstretched wings; IN GOD WE TRUST is in the ribbon above, SCIENCE, ART, INDUSTRY, and AGRICULTURE surrounding.
