A seated woman, similar to that on William Barber’s 1873-1885 U.S. Trade Dollars, represents America. The reverse depicts an interesting scene with a farmer and a colonial soldier preparing for battle. Engraved by George B. Soley. Presidential Auctions sold a silver-plated variety in sale #58, lot #946.
