THIS IS THE TOP POP OF ONLY THREE OF THIS TYPE LISTED IN THE NGC CENSUS AS OF 8/2019. ONE OTHER IS A MS 64 BN THAT WAS OWNED BY THE FAMOUS OSTHEIMER COLLECTION (THAT EXAMPLE WAS THE PLATE FOR BOTH EDITIONS OF THE SO-CALLED DOLLAR BOOK), AND THE THIRD NGC EXAMPLE IS GRADED MS 61. THERE IS ALSO (1) AU50 GRADED BY PCGS TO DATE.
MY FATHER-IN-LAW'S FAMILY ARE FROM SUMTER, SC. THIS MEDAL IS VERY SPECIAL TO ME. THE MS 64 BN OSTHEIMER COLLECTION EXAMPLE SOLD FOR $1,897.00 IN THE OSTHEIMER SEALED BID AUCTION IN 2011.
