I have finally accomplished putting together a very rare set which I believe may be the ONLY one unless someone out there professes to have both of the Convair R-8 So Called Dollars. The preceeding HK-747 thick Copper Variety listed and the Gold Plated HK-748 which is listed here. The gold plated were only issued when 10,000 visitors attended the dedication then 1 was issued-- and when 20,000 attended a 2nd one was issued. I find no record of total attendance. NGC has only graded 2. This one graded MS66 and a second one graded MS64. This is then another TOP POP for my collection. John Raymond lists in his totals that he has seen 1 gold plated and never has seen a copper one. Has ANYONE OUT THERE GOT A COPPER ONE?Update 2021
