An extremely rare (R-8) silver version of the George Washington Monument Memorial in Allegheny Commons Park in Pittsburgh, PA sold in the February 2017 Heritage Auction at the Long Beach show (images above). The information on this monument can be reviewed at: http://fatherpitt.wordpress.com/2014/10/25/george-washington-memorial-allegheny-commons Allegheny, PA was a separate municipality from Pittsburgh in 1891, but today it is incorporated into the city of Pittsburgh. A sister piece to this is HK-617b, the semi-centennial of the city of Allegheny, PA, issued one year earlier in 1890. Happy hunting for all you Western Pennsylvania collectors!

... and here is a different companion piece... if you look at the information on the webpage link in my preceding post, you'll notice that the monument was "erected by the Jr. O.U.A.M. of Western PA" which are the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. This is on the base of the actual statue.
