Near TOP POP, only seven certified by NGC and only one graded finer in MS 65, but not as a proof. I have seen only two others graded PROOF, and according to the NGC census, there are none certified as proof. This great rarity just became rarer. This is a PROOF variety. This medal commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the departure of the Continental Army from Valley Forge. Authorized by Congress, designed and engraved by William Barber and struck in SILVER in 1880 at the Philadelphia Mint. Obverse features the bust of George Washington. This is one of the “Three Kings” of silver so-called dollars along with the Grant HK-12A and the Roosevelt HK-308.
