Orientation |
For the obverse, Dickeson adopted a vignette from the Perseverando $6 bills issued by the 1775-1778 Continental Congress. The all-seeing eye above casts rays down upon a flaming alter surrounded by 13 stars. A vignette from the Confederation $40 bills issued by the 1778-1779 Continental Congress was adopted for the reverse depicting a beaver gnawing on what is likely a palmetto tree.
